LAURELS ATTRACTIVE FALL PROGRAM Substantial Sum of 47,000 to Be Distributed to Horsemen During October Meeting-. vnI.AUKEL, Md., September IS. The substantial sumNif. 17,000 will be distributed among horsemen at "Laurel Park in the course of the October meeting cf the Maryland State Fair. The overnight purses wi!J range in value from 1,000 to 2,000, all in added money. There will be no entrance fees in either siVkes or purses. The staked to be decided in the course of the meeting will im the Capital Handicap, 5,000 added, two-year-olds, three-quarters of a mile; Maryland Handicap, 10,000 added, three-year-olds and over, one mile and a quarter; National, 5,000 added, two-year-olds, three-quarters of a mile; Annapolis Handicap, 7,500 added, three-year-olds and over, one mile and a half; Chevy Chase Steeplechase. 5,000 added, four-year-olds and over, about two miles and a half; Manor Handicap, S3.000 added, two-year-olds, one mile; Laurel. S7,5M added, all ages, one mile, and Ticket of ieuvc Steeplechase, S.t.OOO added, three-year-olds exclusively, about two miles.
