FAIR GROUNDS OFFICERS AT LATONIA LATONIA. Ky., October 9. President B. E. Mc- Clellaud and general manager R. S. Eddy, Jr., of the Fair Grounds, New Orleans, track, accompanied by Placide Frigerio, track superintendent, were arrivals from the Crescent City this morning and met a number of horsemen during the afternoon at the Latonia track. Mr. Eddy stated that his purse suggestions for next winter had been ratified by the board of directors and that no purse of less value than 00 will be offered. There will be four purses of this sum daily, three races of 00 value each day and one race of ,000. This will .make an aggregate of ,400 daily, in addition to 0,000 in added money that will be disbursed to four stake features during the forty-one days of racing that will comprise the season at the Fait Grounds. According to the newcomers the work of rebuild ing the track is progressing satisfactorily and everything will be thoroughly in order for the reception of owners on their arrival in New Orleans next month. Particular attention has been devoted to the stables and approaches and it is aimed to make horses and their caretakers comfortable. The grandstand will be fully completed before the racing begins. Mr. Eddy and associates have been swamped with applications for stall room and it is their aim to take care of everybody.
