TOM MIX LANDS FOUR TUNA FISH Tom Mix, the well-known cowboy movie star, recently Went to Ciitalina Island for a brief vacation, and while there was. asked to try his hand at tuna fishing. Mix, who never had fished for tuna, relates his experience as follows: "I was sitting up in the stern of the boat figuring out a stunt for a picture when I was brought back to the work before me by a pull that felt as though I had a mountain on the end ot my line. Oh, boy! I yelled, Ive got a whale on here! for that is just what h felt like. And I started to pull in. .But the old tuna had something to say about that and started to pull out. I soon realized that I had a job on my hands; that there was quite a differr ence between catching tuna and other kinds of fish. "Finally, after one hour and twenty minutes of the. hardest work I ever did, I landed him. He weighed exactly ninety-seven pounds. It was a mighty proud moment for me, too, when I landed him. "My next catch was a tuna weighing sixty-six and one-half pounds. This took me exactly thirty-two minutes to land. I cast again and caught my tliird tuna in eighteen minutes; this one also weighed sixty-six and one-half pounds. I finished up the days sport by landing "my fourth tuna, which weighed thirty-four pounds. "Of course, being an amateur at this sport, I did not know whether I had done a good days work or "not; but I received many congratulations, so I got chesty."
