FAVORITES ROUTED AT JAMAICA TRACK Over There Runs Third in Principal Race of tho Bay Tctleys Defeat a Stunner. NEW YORK, N. Y., October 10. The program at Jamaica for an oft day was of first quality, the outstanding feature being the Alhambra Handicap at one mile and a sixteenth. The other five races gave the cheaper class of thoroughbreds a chance to earn purses, which were of more than the ordinary value, due to the moneys received from claims and run-ups in the past few days. Post time found Over There a receding favorite in the main race. Crystal Ford and Lady Gertrude each receiving substantial support. Wee Ixmise assumed an early lead, which she relinquished to Over There, which in turn gave way to Lady Gertrude, with the Houseman mare closely followed by Crvstal Ford. This order was maintained to the finish, with the favorite getting the short end of the purse. The defeat of Tetley in tho third race was an overwhelming surprise. Tetley was considered a certain winner, but after being pinched back after the start the AVeir colt could not recover the ground lost, the winner turning up in Bettie Bluff at lucrative odds. Miss Orb, despite being outside in the betting, got second place from Jack ODowd, which fell heir to third. Another surprise came in the fifth race in which R. T. Wilsons Thunderstorm was the favored one. After running forwardly for a half. Thunderstorm quit badly and was soon outdistanced. The winner turned up in Paddy Whack, which easily raced Tenons Bon into defeat in the last eighth. More disappointment for backers of favorites came with the decision of the closing race, May Allev furnishing the upset, the Madden filly failing "to overtake Lady Wood, which led throughout. Jockey T. Nolan returned from Hartford, Conn., where he was called during the illness of his father. Louis Miller, fifty years of age. a resident of Brooklyn, employed by Roy Off tit for many years, died of heart trouble in the Pennsylvania station this afternoon while waiting to journey to Jamaica,
