Won driving; second and third the same. ENCRINITE made up ground steadily and, wearing the leaders down, got up to win in the final strides. SQUIRE CHARLIE finished fast and ontgamed KIRAH. The latter was a close and game contender all the way. BUCKHORN II. closed a big gap. SMITE tired after racing into the lead. NANCY ANN set a fast early pace and quit. CHARLIE LEYDECKER raced well and made a fast finish. BONIFACE closed a gap and finished with a rush. OUT THE WAY and PETER PIPER alternated in pacemaking and raced each other into exhaustion. FORT BLISS ran a good race and outstayed SLIPPERY ELM in the stretch drive. The latter was much used in setting a fast pace and racing TIPPITY WITCHET into defeat and tired. HONG KONG forced a fast pace and came again in the stretch drive. AVAR PLUME closed a big gap after being sharply forced back on the backstretch. MISTAKE set the pace to the last turn and quit badly.
