CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF The three-year-old Le Balafre is a one-eyed gelding. Beginning Monday and for the remainder of the meeting the first race at Laurel will be run each day at 1:45 p. hi. The mother. of jockeys Eddie and Willie Dngan died in San Francisco last week. Eddie Dugan has been riding abroad for a number of- years. The La Salle, New York, track is not likely to be built at all. Certainly no work is being done upon the tract selected for the purpose near the Buffalo-Niagara Falls boulevard. A big tractor is on the ground, but it is not being used and there is no sign of any work being done in connection with , the proposed course.
