AVORDS O WISDOM, helped by the going and showing the most speed, raced into a good lead at once and, holding on well under strong riding, held OPPORTUNITY safe in the final drive. OPPORTUNITY raced in closest pursuit from the start and made a game finish. BLAISE raced prominently most of the way. RAFFERTY closed a gap. SOSIUS was always outrun. EYES OF YOUTH was close up from the start and raced into a clear lead, but gave way when challenged. DONNA ROMA raced forwardly from the start, but was tiring at the end. WATERSMEET ran well. DIANA set the early pace, but tired after going three-eighths. RAPID DAY showed much speed, but was tiring at the end and had to be ridden hard. LION DOR began slowly and ran a fairly good race. The others were always outpaced. Won easily; second and third drivr ing. MAD HATTER was restrained until a mile and a quarter had been covered, then rushed into the lead, and drawing far away in the stretch won in a canter. SWAY was kept far back for the first milo, but moved up steadily afterward, and finishing gamely held STOCKWELL safe through the stretch. STOCKWELL was taken back at the start and saved until iii the last half, then came, gamely, but was unable to overhaul the two leaders. AVAR SPIRIT ran well.
