NEW YORK RACING SEASON OVER SPORT ON METROPOLITAN COURSES FOR THE YEAR 1919 AT AN END STATISTICS OF THE EMPIRE CITY MEETING The New York racing season of 1919 came to an end Saturday, October 25, with the conclusion of the fall meeting of the Empire City Racing Association. In every respect the fall meetings on the Metropolitan circuit were successful and the Yorkers course enjoyed a full measure of the general prosperity. During the twelve days of racing at Empire City seventy-two races were decided and 3,114 distributed in stakes and purses. The daily average distribution amounted to ,312.83. It. T. Wilson was the largest winner both .as to the number of races and money Avon, his horses finishing first in six races, second in three and third in one, the. result of which brought ,107 to the stable coffers. A. K. Macomber is next on the winning list with ,025 to his credit, while W. It. Coe and J. AV.
