Heather after the latter had bought them at his recent sale. The one is a bay colt by Bachelors Double Aloquin, and the other the" chestnut colt by tornowa.v Mill Bay. The value of blueblooded brood mares was made apparent at Pimlico yesterday when the seven-year old mare Merriment II., by Sundridge Marian Hood, was bought Jy A. II. Morris . for 513,000. Marian Hood is tlie d.inr at a yearling by Short Grass, owned by -Km II llerz, which he values at more than 5,000. Owing to labor troubles the Westchester Racing Association has found it necessary to change the date of closing of its stakes from November 15 to November 20. TJie stakes in question are the regular spring and fall lists for 1920. the Lawrence Realization for 1921 and 1922, as well as the Withers and Belmont, two of the other early closing stakes.
