H D BROWN TO RETIRE FROM RACING HAVANA Cuba March 27 At the close of the present meeting II D Brown will retire from all active participation in racing In the future af ¬ fairs of the CubaAmerican Jockey Club will be conducted by Messrs Stoneham Bruen at present iu charge md Messrs jncsada Horter Alleyn and Harrison local people interested in the organiza ¬ tion Mr Brown will spend the next few years traveling He goes to California to look after his e home near Los Angeles which is now under construction Later he will go abroad including visits to Japan China India Australia Europe and South America His son II D Brown Jr will remain in Florida where he has established a rather pretentious stock farm near Jacksonville where he will breed thoroughbreds pedigreed cattle hogs and fowls Mr Brown leaves behind him in Cuba a monument that he may well be proud of in Oriental Park conceded by all to be one of the handsomest race courses in the world
