MARYLAND BURKE BILL MAY DIE ANNAPOLIS Md April When Governor Kichie signed the emergency racing bill which enabled Howie to hold its spring meeting he an ¬ nounced that he would sign the Hnrke racing regu ¬ lation bill which passed the senate by n vote of 17 to 10 last Wednesday afternoon The Hurke bill passed the house the day before beforeThe The Hurke bill as amended is a hodgepodge and is said to be invalid It is now in tiie hands of the printer and will probably come back to ¬ morrow when it will come up On its third reading and if then passed will be sent to the house and referred to the judiciary committee In view of the turn of events and the fact that the measure as now drawn is not in good condition little inter ¬ est b being manifested in its fate The chances are it will die in committee If it docs racing will go on as before without the Burke bills taxation and limit
