EjPlhE CITY STAflsflGS Over 50,000 . Distributed in Stakes and Purses During Sixteen Days of Racing G. W. Loft Leads the Owners. A total of 56,980 was distributed during the sixteen days of racing at Empire City, the meeting at the Yonkers course holding forth from July 14 to July 31. Tho daily average distribution amounted to ,811. The unusual prosperity attending all the racing on the metropolitan circuit this year did not desert the hilltop track, and without doubt the Empire City Racing Association enjoyed the best year in its history. G. W. Loft was particularly successful in the matter of winning races, horses from his stable accounting for eight contests and 5.543. placing the New York turfman at the head of the list ot the winning owners, of which the following won ?500 or more each: Owner.
