Wynnewood, J. T. Strites Ben Brush Wnldena gelding who.je races lately have been watched with interest beT cause of a pair of good efforts behind Irish Kiss, ran back to his best form this afternoon and upset calculations in the Buffalo Times Handicap, at a mile, around which was built the fiftli days program of the Fort Erie meeting. Midnight Sun finished second and St. Qnentin third. Well rated by jockey Kennedy, Wynnewood raced close behind the pace set by Midnight Sun to the far turn, where lie moved up on the outside and drew away through the last eighth. Simpson, who had the mount on Midnight. Sun, lodged a claim of foul against Kennedy for swerving in front of him after straightening out for the run home, but the complaint was not entertained by the stewards. Light rain fell upon the course in the morning, but did not slow the track to any appreciable extent, and gcml time was made in all the races. The colors of C. J. Urockmiller were carried to a double victory by Charlotte 0. and Bcngore in the first aiid second races, respectively. Ownbey, who will take them to Kentucky to be turned out on the forth of J. S. Rarbee at the conclusion of the racing at Windsor. JOCKEY CXAVER OUT OF DANGER. Jockey Claver, who was injured while galloping one of the Ross horses here Saturday, is reported improving satisfactorily in a Ruffalo hospital. A bar of a gate struck him over the eye. At first it was believed that ho would lose the sight of the member, but this fear has been dispelled. Jockey T. Nolan arrived this morning from Saratoga to ride the horses of J. K. L. Ross, but did not appear in the saddle today because of a misunderstanding of the lifting of his- suspension. Cdriimnnder Ross wired Fred Schelke that starter Cassidy had rescinded Nolans suspension, but the stewards here havent been so advised by the stewards nt Saratoga. J. R. Skinker was an arrival today from his home in Washington. Weights for the Edward W. Magiun Memorial Handicap, at a mile and a sixteenth, for three-year-olds and over, which will feature tiie closing card of the current meeting, were announced today. J. K. L. Ross Honifnce is allotted the post or honor witli an impost of 132 pounds. H. G. Hedwell and jockey Sande will be here Wednesday to saddle and to ride the Ross color bearer in the handicap. Jockey II. Myers returned to the saddle today nfter serving a short suspension. Secretary Joseph McLennan has been notified by railroad officials that there will be twenty express cars available for shipment of horses from here to, Windsor Wednesday night over the Michigan Central. J. Mott Was at the track today arranging with horsemen for shipment to Ottawa. Eight or ten of the stables that have been racing here will bo. sent direct to Connaught Park. Included in the consignment will be the horses of W. L. Oliver and E. T. Zollicoffer. C. .A. Clay, the Kentucky breeder, accompanied by E. G. Stoll, secretary of the Kentucky Racing Commission, spent Saturday here on their way by motor, from Saratoga to the Rluegrass State. C .Mitchell, an apprentice rider who has been serving here for J. Walters, has been turned over to Lloyd Gentry.
