KENTUCKY FALL STAKES CLOSE TODAY Kentucky Jockey Club stakes, to be run on the three Kentucky tracks in the fall, will close today, August 17. Starting witli Lexington September IS, racing in Kentucky will continue until November 13. The stakes closing today, to be run during the Lexington meeting are: The Lexington Cup Handicap, ,000 added, for three-year-olds and over, one and one-half mile; the Breeders Futurity Stakes, for two-year-olds, also will be run at Lexington, it having been closed last year. A great s.rray of stakes will be run at La-tonia, including the Covington Handicap, ,00J added, for three-year-olds, one mile and three-sixteenths; Fort Thomas Handicap, 5,000. added, for two-year-olds, three-quarters of a mile; Autumn Handicap. ,000 added, three- rear-olds and . over, three-quarters of a mile; Latonia Handicap, ,000 added, three-year-olds and over, one mile and a sixteenth; Twin City Handicap, ,000 added, three-year-olds and over, one mile and five-eighths; Latonia Cup, ,500 added, three-year-olds and over, two miles and a quarter. The Latonia Championship Stakes for three-year-olds at one mile and three-quarters has closed, as well as the Qupen City Handicap, for two-year-olds at one mile. The Churchill Downs stakes to be decided are the Golden Rod Handicap, S5.000 added, for two-year-olds, seven-eighths of a mile; Falls City. Handicap, ,000 added", threeyear-olds and over, one and one-eighth miles, and the Louisville Cup, ,000 added, three-year-olds and over, two miles.
