FINAL SALE AT SARATOGA Thirty Horses in Training Disposed of for a Total of 4,500 Gloria France Brings Top Price. SARATOGA, N. Y., August 20. The concluding sale of this year in these parts was conducted Friday night by the Fasig-Tipton Company and consisted of thirty horses in training. They were, sold for an aggregate of 4,500, an -average of1 ,4S3. -The six comprising the consignment of J. W. McClelland, were, disposed of for a total of 3,000. an nverage of ,217. The two-year-old Chevalier brought the highest price of the McClelland band, going to M. J. Murphy at his bid of; ,700. The star of the sale in the matter of high price was Gloria France, which J. S. Ward secured for ;900. Sir John Johnson, which has had an eventful ; career on the track and in the stud, was again offered for sale and this time he was purchased byi A. B. Hancock for the small sum of ,500. Several years ago he was in for 0,000 in the same sales ring. The veteran m.nre Ima Frank, which, also has figured in the same sales ring several times and on each occasion gone- back to the. Bever-dyck stable, was disposed of to G. L. Goodacre for 3,000.
