CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF Joe Cooper will ship his" string-:to Dufferin Park, Toronto, at the conclusion o the Mount Royal meeting. Jockey E. Fators Injuries were not as serious as first supposed and lie was back in the saddle at Mount Royal Park Friday. Previous to the running of the sixth race at Mount Royal Fridny, E. Thompson claimed Jack K. from L. A. Seregni for ,300. For an unsatisfactory ride on Clark M. jockey Franklin was suspended after the running of the third race at Mount Royal Friday. Entries for the Fall stakes at? Empire City close; Monday, August 23. The .meeting at Empire City begins October 10 and runs until October 30. Quite a few horsemen who have been racing at the Montreal tracks, who had planned to go to Connaught Park, Ottawa, have changed their minds and will ship to Toronto. The apprentice rider F. Chiavetta is reported by W. C. Weant as having left his services and tho latter has notified horsemen not to harbor the lad. Weant holds a contract on the boy which has still some time to run. II. P. Whitneys two-year-old colt Dartmoor,: which won at the first asking at Saratoga Wednesday, is a brother to- Upset; tlie only colt which has defeated Man o War. He is by Whisk Broom II. On August 2 the price of Lo Jockey, Paris, was increased from five cents to nine cents daily with corresponding increases for the three, six and twelve-moiit.h periods.
