BEST THREE IN THE EAST Expert Opinion as to the Greatest Performers of the Year Names Sir Barton, Man o War and Tryster. NEW YORK, N. Y., September 7. One of the best judges of horses in action in this country said at Relmont Park Saturday: "That true to form racer Sir Barton I take to be at the top of the tree of the elderly division, followed by that evenly matched pair over the longer courses Exterminator and Gnome, and next in order comes Boniface, all distances, and the miier Naturalist. Man o War is, of course, in a class by himself among the three-year-olds, and the next best must be the Kentucky Derby and Suburban winner Paul Jones, for not only JM he beat those of his own age in tlie Derby, bat also was too much for his elders in the running of the Suburban. Wihlair. John P. Grier, Upset and the filly Cleopatra follow. "So far as the season lias progressod Tryster must, in my opinion, be awarded the laurels as tiie best juvenile which has raced this year, followed closely by two hard to separate in Prudery and Leonardo II., and then, at a respectful distance, of course, conies the improved and improving Oriole, which is, moreover, likely to show marked improvement as a three-year-olds, and after these come Nancy Lee, Star Voter whose Hopeful effort was altogether too bad to be true and Step Lightly."
