STUPENDOUS REVENUE FROM RA CING IMMENSE SUM OF 9,540,798 DISTRIBUTED IN STAKES AND PURSES ON TRACKS OF NORTH AMERICA DURING THE PAST SIXTEEN YEARS Nearly ,000,000 in racing revenues for the past sixteen years! To be exact, since 1904 the stupendous sum of 9,540,798 lias been distributed in stakes and purses by tlie combined racing organizations operating in the United States, Canada, Cuba and Mexico. The largest distribution in any one year during the period mentioned above was in 1905, when the monetary returns amounted to ,001,557. That was before the days of the Ilart-Agnew and other repressive anti-racing legislation, when the sport was at the zenith of its glory and power. However, those prosperous- days are here again, and when the figures for 1920 have been compiled it may be found that all previous records have been shattered. At least it appears as if such will be the case with a return of ,285,544 for the first six months of racing, and the outlook of approximately ,000,000 for the remainder of the year.
