CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF Trainer William Karrick is going along steadily with tlie good filly Cleopatra with the intention of starting her in the. rich Latonia Championshp Stakes. Jockey J. McTaggart, who has been riding on tlie Canadian Circuit, is nt Belmont Park riding free lance. His brother, Daniel McTaggart, is making his engagements. The Jockey Club has sanctioned tlie dates for the fall racing at Havre de Grace and named R. Parr as steward to represent The Jockey Club at that approaching Maryland meeting. Stuart Polk and W. C. Weant are among those who will ship to Toronto from Windsor for the Duf-feriil Park and Thorncliffe Park meetings. Jockey E. Fator will accompany the Polk stable. Tlie suspension of jockey Ted Rice lias been continued indefinitely by The Jockey Club On the re-Krt of the stewards of tlie Saratoga Association. Likewise the application of jockey T. McTaggart for a riding license was denied. Gifford A. Cochran was rewarded for the enterprise he displaced when he gave 0,000 eaca for His Majesty and Early Rose, the sire and dam respectively of Bauksia, the filly with whicn he won at Belmont Park the other day. Ills Majesty Is by Ogden and Early Rose is a daughter of Star Shoot. Like Smoke Screen and St. Michael, recent winners in the Cochran colors, Banksia was bred at Mount KIsco, Westchester County, New York.
