VANDERBILT HORSES UNSOLD Report! from Paris Say That Sale Will Be at Public Auction in France Some Time in November. According to information frcm n reliable source from Paris the racing and breeding stud of the late William K. Vanderbilt lias not been sold to anybody, although numerous individuals have been negotiating for their purchase. It is now announced that the stallions and brood mares, yearlings, foals and horses in training would be sold by auction i.i Paris some time in November. At the same time Francis It. Hitchcock of The Jockey "Club, who has been a breeder in France and a natron of French racing off and on for a number of years, will sell the Rock Sand stallion Sandy Hook and the mares he lias in France. Sandy Hook was a good race horse, and it is to Ikj regretted that he was not brought back to the United States, as there are too few representatives in the male line of this staying family in this country. No doubt there will be strong American competition for the stallion Maintenon, head of the Vanderbilt stud, and some of the royally bred mares, many of which are noted producers.
