Start good and slow. Won handily; second and third driving. SEA MINT was a prominent contender from the start and, taking the lead in the stretch, held it gamely. SENNINGS PARK began slowly and raced up to the leaders quickly and ran a good race, but was tiring in the closing strides. MATOR PARKE suffered from minor interference and would have been second in a few more strides. KASHMIR tired in the stretch. DAYDUE set the early pace and quit. The latter raced gamely, but tired in the stretch drive. TARASCON displayed the most early speed, but ran out when entering the homestretch. CIRRUS, under restraint in the early running, ran a good race, but tired when called on for a final effort. DAMASK ran well and was not .hard ridden in the last quarter when beaten. PLAYFELLOW began slowly and was forced extremely wide when entering the stretch, but easily outstayed the others. BLACK KNIGHT showed early speed and held on well in the stretch drive. TUANOREA closed a big gap in the stretch.
