FINAL DAY AT WOODBINE! ! I 1 Excellent Program Prepared for Wind-Up of Fall Meeting Durham Cup to Bugle March. 4 TORONTO, Ontario, October 1 The autumn meeting of the Ontario Jockey Club will come to a close tomorrow with the running of the best program ever decided at the popular Woodbine, course. Three stellar attractions are provided, the Ontario Jockey Club Cup of ,500 added, the Grey Stakes of ,000 added and the Hendrie Steeplechase of ,000 added. Knelt of the other four races lr.ive ,500 added. While weather conditions are anything but favorable for outdoor sport, it is safe to say that no matter how cold and disagreeable it may be tomorrow there will be a great turnout of racing devotees to witness the decision of this splendid program. The Durham Cup, a dash of a mile und three-quarters fcr three-year-olds and over, foaled in Canada, was offered as the feature attraction at the Woodbine track this afternoon. A field of six paraded to the post, with Keltie slightly in demand by the talent. Bugle March, racing for T. Riddle, was returned the winner from Keltie, witli Woodbine third. Keltie set all the early pace and succumbed to the winners challenge in the final eighth. Woodbine closed fast and and would have been second in a few more strides. Winter weather conditions prevailed and the continued rains of the preceding night, turned the track into a veritable quagmire fetlock deep in mud and gave those fancying the heavy going the call in the betting. Sea Sun managed to last out in the Ringwood Steeplechase to win from Smithfleld, while Stucco was third. Sunduria, racing for Ed Moore, came out of her last race in a bad way and will be on the shelf for some time. Word was received this" morning- that jockeys J. Rodriguez and C. Fairbrother would nrrj-y in the morning. The former will have the mount on Bondage, while. Fairbrother will ride Exterminator ands Ofir aa.x. g-.c -.c.- ... -;.v - . E. Koplfe entered" a protest ;JagUinst-; "Jans Peur II; yesterday on the grounds that he did not carry his full weight. The protest was not allowed by the stewards. Judge. J. B. Campbell will depart from here for Laurel on Saturday night. Jockey Komnnelli will go to Windsor as a free lance for the Kenilworth meeting and thence to New Orleans. Bert Graham was an arrival this morning from his farm in Indiana. Mr. Graham will ship Se-villlan from here -to join the remainder of the stable, which is at present at Kenilworth. Jim Thorpe, the good fencer which races for L. H. Ekers of Montreal, struck himself in a recent work-out. His leg filled, but has been improving steadily and he will go to the post in Maryland. W. Wilson will ship Hearts of Oak from .here to Maryland to participate in steeplechasing. Hearts of Oak has been entered in the Manly Memorial, to be run at Pimlico, the richest of steeplechase events, with 0,000 added. James W. Healy will ship the Lumsden and Murphy fencers to Laurel on Saturday. Steeplechase Jockey H. Specks Crawford arrived this morning to ride Burklie in the Hendrie Steeplechase on Saturday. Trainer Veitcli will ship the Glen Iver Stable to Maryland at the conclusion here.
