DIMPLES was away slowly, but showed fine speed and, racing into the lead on the stretch turn, held the others safe to the end. .CIGALE came around the others with a rush on the stretch turn and held on gamely through the last eighth. COUNTESS suffered from interference on the stretch turn, but finished well. MISS FONTAINE was forced back just before reaching the stretch. RASOLA set the pace briefly and quit.
