FEE OF ,000 FOR JOCKEY KUMMER It is reported that jockey C. Kummer will receive a fee of ,000 for riding Man o War in the special race against Sir Barton at Kenilworth Pirk October 12. While it is a good round sum it is not more than Frank Keogh received from W. J. Salmon for riding Step Lightly to victory in the Futurity. Ted Rice was also reported to have received ,000 for bringing home Paul Jones triumphant in the Kentucky Derby. It has not been intimated what fee Earl Sande will receive in the event that Sir Rarton defeats the great Man o War. but it is certain that Commander Ross will not lie less generous than his rival. One of the largest fees ever paid a jockey iu this country was the 0,000 and his passage from England and return paid to Tod Sloan by the late W. C. Whitney for riding Rallyhoo Bey in the Futurity of 1!KI0.
