PLENTY HORSES FOR TIJUANA Early Indications Point to No Scarcity of Racing Material Latest Western Gossip. SAN DIEGO, Cal., November 3. At Neal, the veteran western turfman who maintains a small breeding establishment in the suburbs of Reno, Nev., is among the recent arrivals at Tijuana with ; a carload of mixed thoroughbreds. Neal, who in the past raced the good horses Ed Cudihee, Kate Bright and Jake Sclias, has four yearlings in training which are promising two-year-old. prospects. They are all by the late sire Norford, whose career in the stud was suddenly terminated by a kick from the mare Jane Laurel, breaking his leg, which subsequently necessitated his being destroyed. Neal reports that he. has bred the matrons Purse Rose to Atheling and Norford Rose to Honeywood, the two stallions standing on George Wingflelds Nevada Stock Farm. Laura E. is in foal to Ossary, while Nebraska Lass and Gimli were sent to the court of Sempronius. Dominica is barren this year. The latest news from Jack Atkin, who has been making a tour of the eastern and Kentucky tracks in. the interest of the Tijuana meeting, is that about 150 horses will be shipped here from Kentucky. There are already over 200 horses here and it seems certain that there will be plenty of racing material for the, coming winter meeting. Everyone here consider.3 the acquisition of Francis Nelson of Toronto to the official staff as a ten-strike on the part of die Lower California Jockey Club. W. C. Weant has reached here with a large and useful string of .horses. Trainiug operations are already under way and there will be no scarcity of horses in racing condition for the opening days of the meeting.
