FERNWOOD was outrun for the first half, but came fast through the stretch and won going away. MANTILLA closed a gap in the stretch and oufgamed SILENCE for second place. The latter tired after racing WILD THOUGHTS into defeat and taking the lead. CORNELIA C. set the early pace, but roughed when about an eighth out and knocked back to last. SMITHFIELD knocked one of the standards down after, taking the ninth fence, tut closed up with a rush at the end. MAX MEADOWS tired in the last eighth.
