CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF J. Simon Healy lias got back from Cuba and is at Belmont Park with his solitary colt and pony. William Booth, trainer for the Redstone Stable, is dangerously ill with pneumonia at Baltimore. Pat Dunnes good horse Under Fire and S. L. Kirbys Blackie Daw were left in Kentucky to rest during the winter. Both need it. Joe Notter will train what is left of the M. L. Schwartz stable next year in connection with the few horses in Frederick Johusons stable. Grand Slam, which died at Key West en route to Cuba, was insured for 5,000, He was twice unplaced as a two-year-old and won but one race, was second and third once this year. The successful stallion Zria, by Cyllene Perce Neige, died in Ireland lately from an injury ac-cidentaly received. He sired numerous winners, the most prominent being the Liverpool Grand National winner Troytown, which was subsequently killed in a French jumping race. The Sunnyland Stable is not going to California this winter. It has been press-agented for Tijuana, but what horses Bob Smith intends to race will go to New Orleans. Slippery Elm and Irish Kiss have been turned out at the Newark, Del., farm which Smith recently bought.
