CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF England is not alone in being agitated over betting questions in the law courts. The Belgian lawyers are, it seems, now disputing the point whether horse racing is a game of chance or not. and the case is to go to the court of appeal. London Sportsman. It will be remembered that the Shanghai Racing Club made a donation of 5,000 to the Charing Cross Hospital. They have now sent an additional 5,000. Naturally the Charing Cross Hospital management is extremely grateful for the handsome benefaction, and a twelve-bedded ward is now called the "Shanghai Race Club Ward." The horse Kinlark, which was presented to the Prince of Wales by a Melbourne sportsman when IT. R. If. was in Australia, is being housed at TattersalPs foe. the present. If it i decided to try the horse on the turf he will probably go to Marshs stable at Newmarket and will be trained under the supervision of Lord Marcus Beresford.
