CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF Thomas Mouahnn sails in a few days for Cuba to spend the rest of the winter there. Lady Gertrude will race no more. She has been retired anil goes to the farm as a matron. The trouble with Sam C. Ilihlreth has at last been placed. Sam has the rich mans complaint, a floating kidney. The plans for Devonshires new clubhouse and x steeplechase course are growing and the work is to be pushed early in the spring. John Sanfords horses left Amsterdam, N. Y., for Hot Springs, Ark., and will winter there with several other well-known stables. The R. L. Baker horses will not get into action until the Fair Grounds meeting opens. They had a hard campaign In Kentucky and their owner has decided on a good rest for them. William Perkins will look after their training at New Orleans. Purchnse, Luculitte, Dominique and Inchcape have been sent to Rancocas, N. J., the Hihlreth-Slnclair farm, and later on about a dozen of the older horses will 1m; sent to Hot Springs. The Hildreth yearlings will remain at Belmont Park during the winter. Inchcape is reiMirted to have grown into an impressive looking colt and shows no trace of the sickness which caused his retirement.
