. J i 1 RECORD OF A CANADIAN LEADER DR. HICKMAN THE CHIEF MONEY GATHERER IN THE STABLE OF USEFUL HORSES RACED BY THE CANADIAN OWNER G.M. HENDRIE The well-known Canadian owner, George M. Hendrie, possessed some useful horses in racing this year and fared well accordingly. Dr. Hickman was a speedy three-year-old and the chief money earner of the Hendrie stable. The steeplechaser Ammunition was quite successful and ranked next to Dr. Hickman in money won. The two-year-old Last One only took one race, but that was the valuable Provincial Handicap at Windsor and served to give him third place in the stable list. Rancher, long the stables main reliance, was in the sere nnd yellow leaf of horse form, but managed to pull in a couple of races and pay his way comfortably. He is a well bred horse and may prove a successful sire when given his chance in the stud. Estero displayed an order of speed that should have brought her more frequent success than it did, but she was generally contending with the better class horses in Canadian racing. The stable has one peculiar record. Great Scott won nothing, but outside of his failure every other horse raced won in excess of ,000, n rare occurrence in any stable of ten or more horses. The satisfactory record of the stable was: Horse. Col. and Sex. A. Pedigree. 1st.- 2d. 3d. Won.
