DISPUTE- OVER FRIAR ROCK Messrs. Rosseter and Madden Unable to Agree About Young Sires Location. NEW YORK, N. Y., December 13. There is a serious present difference over Friar Rocks services which may lead to a lawsuit between John E. Madden and John II. Rosseter of California. When the young sire and five mares were sold in 1917 by Madden to Rosseter it was with the agreement, as Madden claims, that he retained a future breeding interest in the horse, which was to stand for alternate two-year terms in California and Kentucky. Madden has looked Kentucky services for the season of 1921 to Friar Rock on the strength of this understanding. Mr. Rosseter does not agree to the alternate two-year terms and refuses to send Friar Rock to Kentucky. There was no written agreement made at the time of the sale and the service term dispute is a mere matter of understanding about which the parties so far have not been able to agree.
