i GERMAN RACING, BETTING AND BUYING During the one hundred and thirteen days of racing over the Berlin, Germany,- courses in 1920 the inutuel or totalizator take was in round figures ,200,000 as compared with about ,223,000 in 1919. These figures are those of current exchange and not of the much depreciated German mark. There seems to be plenty of money in "broke" Germany for racing, for at the autumn sales at the Hoppegarten of Berlin three record, prices were r registered. The sum of 111,000 marks for-a brood mare Maja, foaled in 1911, by Spearmint Mu jails; 31000 marks for a foal by Fnntouie Maja, and 95,000 marks for a yearling colt by Biniou Ab-i wecholung, by Hannibal. . ..
