TWO-YEAR-OLDS FOR TIJUANA Choice Wingfield Yearlings to Receive Their First Lessons in Racing There. iltY F. L. McKKNNKY. SAN FUAXCISCO. Cal. December 24. The Nevada Stock Faim string has been shipped from the State Fair Irounds, Sacramento. to Tijuana. Trainer Walter Heath took seventeen coming two-year-olds and two coming three-yea rs-ohls to the Lowif Califirnia track. Jinikey V.. V. Denny and Mrs. Denny went along. The riders wife is a skilled horsewoman and is anxious to show what she can do in the saddle at the Tijuana meeting. She plans to apply for a license to ride in the races against the hoys at the border iwirse. The Wingfield horses have been in training at .Sacramento for three months and most of the number will be ready to nice early. The seventeen coming two-year-olds will make up by far the most imposing band "of young horses at Tijuana. Special interest attaches to the youngsters, as among them are found eleven of the progeny ; f the Desmond horse Atheling. These will ! the first of Athel-ings sons ami laughters to face the barrier. Trainer Heath is not of the Insisting sort, hut he could not hide his confidence in the "babies" he has in his charge. It was easy enough to judge from what he had to say that he thinks the two-year-old stakes are at his mercy. The filly and volt will be raced in high-class races for three-year-olds after the beginning of the coining new year.
