JOCKEY INJURED AT TIJUANA TRACK SAN DIEGO Cal April 27 As a result of a bad fall in th fourth race at Tijuana yesterday Elbert NobRv an apprentice rider Whose contract is held by Charles Ilowell Texas lioroniui is in a local hospital dangerously injured He was un ¬ conscious last night and Dr B H Crtibtree at ¬ tending physician said he feared the youth had sustained a fracture of the skull In the same race in which Noble was injured jockeys Murray and Perry were thrown but luckily escaped unscathed unscathedPerry Perry was thrown first when the mare Dots crashed against the inside rail passing the half mile post Horse and rider went down with Perry landing in the infield Later while the big field was rounding the lower stretch turn Maud M which was ridden by Noble crossed lier legs and fell Noble was thrown heavily to the track Dienero which was close behind Maud M and ridden by Murray fell over the prostrate mare Murray like Perry escaped without a scratch Dots received a bad cut on the shoulder but the other two thoroughbreds were uninjured uninjuredClass Class A the winner of the second race startled the spectators by winning from a poor band of milcrs at the lucrative odds of better than 72 to 1 AVith the exception of this the racing during the afternoon was formful favorites and second choices accounting for the majority of the races racesJockey Jockey Bower under contract to William Red Walker scored his initial success of his riding career when lie piloted the threeyearold filly Barber a winner in the third race raceStanley Stanley H won a lucky victory in the fourth race as the two falls bothered most of the con ¬ tenders allowing him to go about his business while most of the starters were pulling up and going around the fallen horses to escape accidents At that he only lasted long enough to win by a nose noseJockey Jockey D Hum carried off the saddle honors riding two winners during the afternoon afternoonEncouraged Encouraged by the vast amount of interest mani ¬ fested in the fiveeighths heat race last Sunday racing secretary Leon Wing will attempt to stage a mile heat race for the weekend
