SPIRITED LATONIA RACING Starters Mainly Ordinary but Provide Exciting Finishes Paris Maid Triumphs in the Main MainRace Race but Narrowly One OneRace Race to Bradley LATONIA Ky June 23 In the feature race of today at a mile and a sixteenth which had a purse of 1800 came a finish that had the crowd in a frenzy while the desperate duel was on Paris Maid and Blowing Bubbles were the center figures in furnishing the struggle the mare triumphing over her younger rival but only by a matter of inches Blowing Bubbles good race was the more admirable because of his concession of six pounds and two years to the winner and his having forced the early pace and raced the speedy Cotton Blossom into subjection Accelerate landed third fairly close to the leaders Paris Maid enjoyed favoritism her winning race in a preceding start awarding her the post of honor The purse served to give some of the better grade horses here opportunity to contest with the result that there was improvement in the racing and the evenly matched horses engaged in some spirited finishes finishesThe The E R Bradley establishment had designs on three of the purses but failed on two occasions though his beaten representatives contended strongly and landed in second place The victorious one was Believe Idle Hour in the secondary attraction a dash at threequarters She triumphed over Bruns ¬ wick after having
