CAPTAIN BENNET A "TOUGH BIRD" Capt. G. Rennet, one of the best of English crosscountry riders, who finished the Liverpool Grand National on Turkey Buzzard after three falls, must be a "tough bird." About a fortnight later, at Plumptou. he had to be removed to the station on a stretcher consequent of an injury to his ankle through, his mount colliding with a post, but a couple of days after that he won the Lancashire Steeplechase, of ,750, three and one-half miles, on Black Iitnb, a 10 to 1 chance.
