Won driving; second and third the same. BILLY BRUSH, prominent from the start, gained steadily under hard riding in the stretch and overhauled HEPHAISTOS in the last twenty yards. HEPHAISTOS, lucky from the start, raced into the lead in the first eighth and appeared the Winner in the stretch, but tired in the last eighth. PEGASUS ran well and had no mishaps. REARDON closely and, passing him on the stretch turn, finished gamely and outstayed BUNGA BUCK. The latter moved up fast in the last quarter and was gaining at the end. BETTINA had no mishaps and finished gamely. JOHN S. REARDON set a fast early pace, but quit in the stretch. SIR LAWNFAL was done after going a 1-alf mile. FOURTH RACE 3-4 Mile. BIG SON had no mishaps. RUNNAN set a fast pace to the stretch and quit. GRACE MINARD was done after going the first quarter. APHIE DEAR lost ground by coming wide on the stretch turn, but finished fast and gamely. GINGER raced prominently all the way. FIREBRAND ran a good race.
