DELORIMIER MEETING ENDS Assumption Takes Special Race Old Pop Scores Third Straight Success. MONTREAL. Que.. July "J. A much welcomed rain visited Delorimier I ark at the conclusion of the racing yesterday and rendered the going heavy for today. As a result upsets came with the running of several of the races. There was no special feature down for decision, but despite this fact the half holiday crowd swelled the attendance to the largest of the meeting. Assumption accounted for the second race, a special dash for Quebec-owned horfes. He led throughout and won easily. The Canadian-bred Old Pop scored his third victory at this meeting when he annexed the fourth race, in which he defeated some shifty sprinters. For practices detrimental to the best interests of racing the entries of the horses owned by W. H. Cross will be refused and he has been warned away from all tracks under the jurisdiction of the Quebec Hreeders and Racing Association. The judges announced today that all horses pulling up lame or showing signs of soreness going to the post will he barred thereafter from starting on the tracks of the Quebec Hreeders Association until such time as they are pronounced sound by the clubs veterinary. Dr. F. W. Ashe. Two horses which started today and are affected by this ruling are Helen Major and George Hovee. T. I. Gorman, secretary of the Connaught Park Jockey Club. Ottawa, was a visitor here today. Word reached here that Charles Hall is en route here from Fort Erie to King Edward Park with Kuklux and Cormoiau. The horse Hay was scratched from the sixth race today for the reason that he was stolen out of his .stable during last night. Owner McNulty reports that the horse was missed shortly after 4 oclock this morning. A carload of horses will leave here on Monday for the fair races at Ashlin, Ky. Included in the shipment will be Illinois Lad. Will Soou and J. Curls string, which includes-JIiidaiiiByjigt Bx:nriinatWn disclosed the fact that Jockey C. Howard suffered a broken collar bone when his mount. Second Cousiu. fell during the running of the sixth race heie yesterday. Jockey F. Moore, who went down at the same time, suffered a scraped face, but resumed riding today.
