AKNUSTI slipped through next to the rail into the lead, but was hampered on the stretch turii and through the last eighth. CLOUGH.TORDAN had a clear course for the entire race and finished fast and gamely. DRAFT rushed into the lead quickly, but tired and swerved i out on tin; last turn. PICNIC showed early speed and was eased up when beaten. WILD DELVE raced : green. The last two were awav poorly and had no chance. KREWLR raced under stout restraint all the way and held DIMMESDALE safe in the final drive and apparently could have won had it been so desired. DIMMESDALE was hard ridden throughout, raced gamely, but could never overtake the two leaders. THUNDERSTORM lacked early speed, but saved ground when entering the stretch and was gaining slowly.
