RAIN HELPFUL AT WINDSOR Brings Coolness and Makes the Race Track Faster. Dodge the Victor in the Main Race of the Day Card Inferior and Devoted to the Slow Ones. . WINDSOB, Out., July 15. Although there was up carded feature at the Windsor Jockey Club course this afternoon, a well-arranged card of seven races was offered and was productive of spirited racing. What drew the best baud to the post was the fifth, a dash of a mile for three-year-olds and over under allowances. This resulted in another victory for the J. S. Ward stable when Dodge was returned the winner from Tippo Sahib and Begistrar. The winner was ridden by II. J. Burke and raced in close early pursuit of the pacemaker to the baekstreteh, then took the lead and drew away to win by a. safe margin. Much of the interest in the race was lost when Blowing Bubbles got caught in the webbing as it was released. Begistrar and Tippo Sahib as one result did not start clear. The card today catered to the poorer grade of horses and mostly under claiming conditions. Tb backers were again in a quandary aud failed to center on the winners with any degree of accuracy. A dash fashioned for two-year-old colts and geldings enabled James B. Brown, with Lykc in the saddle, to win. from Marble, with Tom Cassidy third. The winner was practically ,iJegJecJ:e,d.-iby-. - the tulent-. -while "Marble "was" made a lukewarm choice. The winner led all the way and stood a mild drive to win by a neck, with Marble slowly gaining on him at the finish. The track was benefited by a rain which fell last night, and today was as fast as ever. Overhead conditions were agaiu all that could be desired. The sweltering heat of the past few days was dispelled by the storm, and a cool breeze continually blew over the track. The attendance was again large, and well up to previous Friday standards. Jockey W. Morrissey was suspended for three days by starter Morrissey yesterday for disobedience at the barrier in the fourth race while astride Martha Fallon. Jockey Clavcr was suspended for the remainder of the meeting by the stewards for rough riding in the fifth race. This suspension places Clavcr. or any other loy. in a serious predicament, as it is a rule of the Canadian Bacing Associations that a riders license is automatically revoked on his suspension the second time for rough riding.
