RACING IS PROFITABLE IN ONTARIO TORONTO, Out.. July 15. Operation of race tracks in this province has proved immensely profitable to the various clubs, it was announced today at the office of the provincial treasurer, who has received the returns from the meetings thus far held. The Metropolitan Baring Association from the Dufferin Park half-mile track, Toronto, showed a profit of 1921.sh0,S00. it was reported, while the smallest profit was S11.10S. eariied by the Niagara Racing Association at Fort Erie. The Ontario Jockey Club meeting at Woodbine Park, .turned in a net surplus of 1,074. A total of 3,017,072 was bet by the public at the four Ontario spring race meetings.
