Won easily; second and third driving. OLD IAI set the pace from soon after the start and drawing away into a long lead in the stretch won in a canter. FREDERICK THE GREAT raced close up all the way, but tired in the stretch drive. PAXSY gradually improved her position and closing a great gap finished with a rush. EPISODE shuffled back when going to the first turn, also made up much ground and finish gamely. HEI.I.O PARDXER had no mishaps. PHALARIS could never improve his position. Won handily; second and third driving. R LAZES followed DESPAIR closely under slight restraint until well into the stretch, where he came fast under a vigorous hand ride and won going away. DESPAIR took the lead at once and set a fast pace for the going, but tired in the last eighth whqn called on for a final effort. DRY MOON, in the best going throughout, closed up gamely through the stretch and would have been second in smother htride. ESQUIRE showed speed for a half mile. NANCY F. took the lead at once and set a fast pace, but tired in the iast sixteenth. PEXITEX.T. away forwardly, gained steadily next to the rail and outstayed RUXSTAR in the final drive. RUXSTAR. away badly, closed a big gap and finished fast. SIDEREAL showed speed, but tired in the last eighth. ICAI-SAXG quit in the stretch and was eased up. SEDGE ran well. GREY LAG, on the outside of the leaders in the early running, raced under slight restraint until entering the stretch, where he raced into a clear lead, but had to be hard ridden at the finish to withstand SPORTING BLOODS challenge. The latter raced under restraint for it mile, then came on the outside of GREY LAG in the stretch and, finishing gamely, was gaining slowly at the end. COPPER DEMOX rushed into the lead on the backstretch and showed much speed for a mile, then tired. KXOR-RIE quit after going a half mile in the lead. Overweights Sporting Rlood, 1 pound. FLIBRERTYGIRRET was a forward contender from the start, but came extremely wide when entering the stretch and lost ground. HERD GIRL closed a gap.
