, , j , . , , , , , j , , EDDIE RICKENBACHER FIRST Captures the Windsor Feature Race in Fast Time. The Porter Also Wins in Near Track Record Time Second Thoughts Beats Diadema. WINDSOR. Out.. July 18. .T. R. Skinkers Eddie Riekenbacher accounted for the Kelle Isle Handicap, which was offered as the feature attraction this afternoon, from a speedy band over the three-quarters distance. Kesthoff finished in second place, while Sewell Combs was third. The winner was ridden by J. Kutwell, set a terrific pace- all through the race and covered the distance in 1:11m. Sewell Combs was the one offering closest contention for the first half, but gave way in the final eighth. Kesthoff, which had been close up all through the first half, finished with a rush and was closing up on the winner at the end. The Monday card embraced the usual seven race and brought togetiier well matched fields. The crowd, much below the Saturday mark, was a large one for a Monday and was well rewarded by spirited racing. A dash framed for maiden three-year-olds and oyer was offered as the opening dash and brought together a field of twelve. Tuscola was supported with rare confidence and rewarded her supporters by getting home in front of Josie Gorman and Black Baby. Second Thoughts and Diadema. In a dash fashioned for two-year-old-fillies,- drew the br.lk of the betting support, and Second Thoughts was returned an easy winner from the Ross starter, with Helen Rogers third. The two ran head and head for the greater part of the distance, but through the final eighth Second Thoughts was drawing away, to win by a wide margin. She rau the distance in 1:00, which equaled the track record, held jointly by Moncrief and Katina. Helen Rogers was a fast coming third next to the inner rail. When well inside the final sixteenth Diadema swerved over to the inside rail and bothered Helen Rogers. Mconey lodged a complaint of foul, which was not allowed. The race was an expensive one for jockey T. Partington, as he was suspended for five racing days by the stewards for impeding Diadema during the running. E. B. McLeans The Porter accounted for an allowance race, which was offered as the fifth, at a mile and a sixteenth. The McLean racer was ridden by Kutwell. which gained his second victory of the day and came from behind to pass Jim Daisy and win by less than a length. Kygone days was third. The fractional time for the race was the fastest of the meeting, while the time for the full distance. 1:44, was but one-fifth of a second slower than the track record, established by Great Britain. The Porter was supported witli rare confidence by the favorite backers and was a great favorite. Trainer Cyrus F. Clark has changed his plans in reference to going to Saratoga and will remain in Canada. The breaking down of My Boots is one of the reasons for the change. Trainer Wm. McDaniel departed for Saratoga yesterday. Our Flag and Exterminator will fl low Wednesday. B. Hardings two-year-old Fannie P.ean wt--jumped on in her nice on Saturday and was slightly cut. Mrs. H. Dattners Bunga Buck was tr.iscd frcm starting in the fifth race today by the stewards Bunga Buck is a carded starter in the stake race tomorrow. J, W. Bean of Washington arrived this mornifg and will remain for some time. S. Miodow arrived this morning with Lads Love, and took up quarters at Keuilwortli.
