V MAISONNEUVE PARK RACING TODAY MONTREAL, Que., July IS. A conference was held here this morning between a committee representing the horsemen and the management of Mai-sonnenve Park regarding the purse distribution during the meeting which opens tomorrow. The horsemen requested ."00 purses. A compromise was effected and five races each day will have -lii added, while two races will be SiiiOO value. Tomorrow the fourth and seventh races will be those worth $."00. J. T. Buckleys Hemlock scored a decidedly lucky victory in the selling handicap, the fourth, and feature attraction of the concluding days racing at King Edward Park this afternoon. Tarascon appeared an easy winner nearing the stretch turn, where he ran out. This enabled Hemlock to beat Tarascon a short length, with American Eagle a creditable third. Lady Betty annexed the initial dash, for Canadian-bred horses after leading throughout. Ex-jockey J. Russells Baby Vamp graduated from the maiden ranks when she scored most decisively in the second race for two-year-olds. John F. Ryan, manager of the Canadian National Bureau of Breeding, is in receipt of .2rl, a contribution from the Montreal Driving Club, which operated the recent Delorimier Park meeting. A similar amount will be donated by all the tracks racing under .the jurisdiction of the Quebec Breeders Association from each meeting. The money will be applied to the work of the breeding bureau, which is Dominion wide. Leo Dandurand, secretary of the Quebec Breeders Association, lias been appointed guardian of the mare Fair and Warmer by the superior court of Montreal pending the outcome of legal proceedings now being taken over the reward offered for the recovery of the mare following her mysterious disappearance from Blue Bonnets last fall. For practices detrimental to the best interests of the turf jockey II. Lafferty was today indefinitely suspended. Jockey J. Dominick was indefinitely suspended today by the judges for not being in condition to fulfill his engagements.
