TWO FLEET WESTERN FILLIES Miss Joy and Fair Phantom A Speedy Pair Destined for Saratoga. Two filly developments of the West, Miss Joy and Fair Phantom, bid fair to make things interesting at Saratoga for the best the East can muster. Both are eligible for practically all the juvenile fixtures, ami in the hands of such an able conditioner of youngsters as Cal Milam should give a fine account of themselves. Both were purchased from J. X. Camden as yearlings by Montfort Jones, and are the produce of ex-Senator Camdens Hart land Stud in Kentucky, from which many a noble racer has come. Of the two. Fair Phantom has amassed a larger total in winnings than her stablemate, but on several occasions when she defeated Miss Joy the latter was purposely restrained, the stable having declared to win with Fair Phantom. In their last appearance at Latouin, in the Cincinnati Trophy, the stable again declared to win with Fair Phantom, but the latter, under the heavy impost of 12S pounds, weakened slightly, and Miss Joy was forced to go on and save the race, but at the finish she still had much in reserve, winning from one of the best bands of two-year-olds to appear under colors at Latoniu. So far Miss Joy has been un-extended and her future! development will lie watched with keen interest.
