NEW YORK TRACKS9 SPUING MA CING NEARLY f 700,000 DISTRIBUTED DURING JAMAICA, BEL- MONT PARK AND AQUEDUCT MEETINGS RANC0- CAS STABLE THE LARGEST WINNER MANY NEW TRACK RECORDS ESTABLISHED - The spring meetings at Jamaica, Belmont Park and Aqueduct, particulars of which are here given in detail, have been pleasingly successful. As in Kentucky, previous recent records for attendance, receipts and distribution were all shattered. The stakes and purses were-more valuable and the daily average distribution was 2,301.12. There were fifty-six racing days, during which 335 races were held. This includes the meeting held May 21 by the United Hunts Club at which five races were featured. The total distribution was 1921.shS9 031. The percentage of winning first choices, .41, is good. The general distribution among winning owners was spread over a larger number and reflects the increased interest in the thoroughbred that is developing in the East. From the opening meeting at Jamaica until the curtain was rung down at Aqueduct patrons of the "Sport of Kings" attended daily in large numbers and were rewarded by noble contests between the fleetest thoroughbreds that are to be found in America. This statement is supported by the fact that during the brief season in review there were twenty-four horses which ran the mile distance in 1:38 or better. In Kentucky, with sixty-one racing days, there were only seven horses which completed the distance in this time. Ten new records were made during the three meetings, including two new American records. On June 1 Audacious, at Belmont Park, covered the mile in 1:35, displacing Man o Wars previous record of l:3Ms. Coaler, on June 10, ran one and one-eighth miles in 1:49, also displacing a record of 1:49, held by Man o War. Grey Lag, at Aqueduct, July 7, ran the .distance in 1:49. Other new records were made for the three-quarter mile, one mile and seventy yards, one and one-sixteenth miles and one and one-eighth miles at Jamaica; the one and one-sixteenth miles distance at Belmont Park, and the one mile and one and one sixteenth miles record at Aqueduct. The following tabulations give complete details of New York racing from jfay j jn juy 8, inclusive: The Rancocas Stable-S. C. Hildreth combination has an overwhelming lead in the list of winning owners on the New York tracks. Its winnings up to July S amount to the huge sum of 15, 13S, and this is being augmented almost daily. Of this amount Grey Lag has contributed 4,095, Mad Hatter 18,740 and Knobbie 7,20S. Other useful winners which assisted in the accumulation were Valor, Little Ciiief, William A.. Kai-Sang, Dominique and many more of lesser fame. H. 1. Whitney is second in the list with 0,370 as his portion, Broomster, John P. Grier and Olympus being the largest contributors to that total. Quincy Stable comes third on the list with 0,1543. Among the winning horses in this stable are Teddy R., Sunny Jim, Sister Flo, Beamer and Devildog. Redstone Stable is fourth on the list with .3,009. Half of this was won by the four-year-old son of Superman, Gladiator, which is credited with 2,891. The owners who have won ,000 or more on New York tracks are: Owner. 1st. 2d. 3d. Amt.
