SIR JOHN VERGNE set a good pace and raced LOUISE WYNNE into defeat, but gave way readily to the winner. FRANK SHANNON began slowly, but closed up much ground and finished fast. ROSEATE ran well. LOUISE: WYNNE was speedy, but tired in the final eighth. PEERLESS ONE was eased up when well beaten. CORSON ran a bad race and can do much better. FIFTY FIFTY dashed to the front at once and, setting a great pace, won easing up. PUMPS finished fast on the inside and headed STACY ADAMS in the final strides. The latter bolted to the extreme outside in the stretch, but for which lie would have been second. TULANE tired in the final eighth after showing much early spped. FOY ran well. LITTLE MAUDIE regained her speed suddenly aild, after Seeming to tire, came again in the last sixteenth and outfinished COLONEL MATT. The latter raced close up throughout and headed LITTLE MAUDIE at the eighth post, but tired in the final drive. IIAIUtY BURGOYNE also showed sudden improvement and finished resolutely.
