OVER FORTY AND STILL A GJ30D RIDER , James Winkfield. the colored jockey under engagement . to the Mantacheff Stable in France, is ahead forty two years old. but can hold his owu with the best riders there. Winkfield was on the dock I at Cherbourg for a winter trip to Kentucky when i un accident incapacitated the stable trainer and I Winkfield left shipside to go back to duty.
