March IS.— The Maryland Bae ing I onnnission has give-n its tentative approval to the budg.-ts for the coming season submitted by the four rae-e tracks under its jurisdiction. The commission has reserved the right, however, to ear- tail any e-xpendit.ire Which may be thought unnecessary later in the aeaasa. The eotnmission gave all the tracks to understand that tin- stric te-st ee-onomy compatible with e-flieient operation would be enforced this ye-ar. and as a result the budgets, when submitted, were elosely in line with the- announced policy. The only change made ill the blidge-ts was the refusal to allow an item submitted by one- track for payun-nt to the elilc-e tors. A list of eatptayea to b.- submitted ten days before each iio-eting by the- tracks will be subject to ap- peroral SJ the commission.
