IlOiEf-KSS, after racing in close-up pursuit from the start, moved up with a rush on the inside after em ling the homestretch and, taking the lead, swerved out some when LATHROP challenged at the aiieenHi pest, but hung on resolutely in the final drive. LATHROP began slowly and was saved for the 5rst half, then finished fast and pressing the winner hard. LADY IJOSS set a great pace and raced AKKNDAL into defeat in the first half, but tired badly in the stretch. ARENDAL ran a fast half, but tired and came wide when entering the homestretch. Won driving; second and third tho same. HEREAFTER sprinted into a long lead quickly and set an extremely fast early pace, but was tiring t jrougli the last eighth. CITATION finished fast and gamely and was gradually wearing the leader down. FINCASTLE raced well, but tired and just lasted long enough to outstay CROCK O GOLD. The latter finished gamely. ROYAL VISITOR followed the leaders close up to the stretch turn, where he was taken to the outside and, finishing fast, easily passed DIADEMA in the last sixteenth. DIADEMA set a fast pace under stout restraint for the first five-eighths and tired, but outfiniahed KELTIE at the end. KELTLH finished gamely. BCGLE MARCH was cased up when he tired. BONIFACE was far back and outpaced in the early running and was permitted to get fully settled In his stride before being called on, then worked his way up on tho outside and, coming through the stretch with a great rush, won going away. REGISTRAR was a close-up contender from tho start, but had to be hard ridden to outstay PLANET. The latter closed a big gap and finished fast and gaining. GOLDEN SPHERE was much used in making a fast pace and tired In the stretch, MAINMAST ran a good race. FIREBRAND could never get to the froat and unaccountably quit in the homestretch. DR. HICKMAN tired in the last eighth after showing fine speed for the first half and racing into th lead. EULAH F. finished fast next to the inside rail and outgamcd the tiring ULTIMATA. BY JIMINY had a rough race in the early running, bnt was taken in the outside on the backstretch and closed up ground rapidly into a game second, but had to be ridden out at the end to outstay GOURMAND. The latter ran a good race and finished fast. FANNIE BEAN closed .t big gap. SERVITOR quit in the last quarter after setting a fast pace to the last turn. SUNDIAL iL ran a good three-quarters. DOCTOR JTM went to the front with a rush after roiipding the far turn, but was tiring badly in the stretch and Just lasted to win. HONOLULU BOY entile with a rush in the stretch and would have won in another stride. STANLEY also moved up with a rush, bat waa tiring through the final sixteenth. EXPLOSIVE had no mishaps.
